Sarah Elizabeth Viola
As a native Californian, Sarah Viola has delighted audiences all over the west coast singing a vast repertoire ranging from the Baroque to contemporary with such companies as Opera Santa Barbara, Eugene Opera, Stockton Opera, Townsend Opera, West Bay Opera, Pocket Opera, and the Mendocino and Bear Valley Music Festivals.
Internationally, she premiered the role of Giulietta in Emily Wongs Romeo e Giulietta in Italy and participated in the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria.
There, she was a grand finalist in the Meistersinger competition where she received honorable mention. Ms. Viola has been a young artist with Opera Santa Barbara and an Artist in Residence with the New York Lyric Opera.
Roles include: Despina (Così fan tutte), Pamina and Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Romilda (Serse), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), Belinda (Dido and Aeneus), Ann Page (Merry Wives of Windsor), Valencienne (Merry Widow) and the title role in Handels Semele.
